Hi, I’m Anna, a trained Marriage and Family therapist for over 13 years. I am committed to fostering understanding and empathy with my clients, as I believe that every individual carries a unique perspective shaped by their experiences. My goal is to create a supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and actions, and ultimately connect with others in meaningful ways.
My approach:
In sessions, I will bring a sense of curiosity, empathy, and humor to the table. I strive to clarify the issues and create a roadmap to find solutions. I believe that personal growth and healing can emerge from openness, and I aim to empower clients to recognize and embrace those moments.
My background:
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Clinical Psychology from a small school in New Hampshire (Keene State). Following graduation I had the opportunity to work with young children in an in-home treatment center. My experiences there fueled my desire to gain more tools to help individuals understand their emotions and manage their lives. I returned to Minnesota to pursue a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at St. Mary’s University. Upon graduating in 2009 I began to practice as a MFT. I found that many of my clients sought more than just talk therapy, this led me to pursue an approach for processing past trauma called, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Additionally, I am trained in family mediation and have expertise in Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, both of which I integrate into my practice to empower clients as they navigate their paths to growth and change. In my spare time, I am passionate about being outdoors through camping and hiking with my family. I enjoy being creative and woodworking with my sister. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and support you on your journey!
